i would agree to disagree. And my reason is that we're like a pizza. A pizza is whole, the slices of the pizza are also the pizza. Therefore, what the plural parts do is also of consequence to us, as a body and as an identity, so if my friend doesn't like me because a plural part of them said they don't like me, I just won't be their friend anymore, because just like them, we have all agreed to be their friend, singularly or collectively. If we have a disagreement about a friend, it must be fixed internally. Plurality is not an excuse to be a fool, an idiot or a jerk to anyone, no matter what, and if we've done something, we must explain, appologise and better ourselves, so that doesn't repeat. Saying harmful or bad things to humans not only harm them, but first harm us, because of cause and effect.

@tardis Sure. But I'm not talking about actions. I'm talking about feelings here. A friend got mad at me for something a plural said. And rather than confront me about it, they back talked me under the assumption that all of me feels that way. Now, to be fair; some of us deal with pluralism differently. You are operating under the headmate model. I'm speaking of the parts of me model. So I agree with you, but I also acknowledge that we are speaking of two different plurality models here. You are talking about the headmate model. I am speaking of the parts of me vs. the whole model. And I believe the disagreement stems from this difference in plural operation.

I don't know how you assumed under what model I am operating under, but good to know you know me better than I do myself. Parts and headmates are really the same thing, as far as I know and am aware of. If you were parts, you'd be bodily split. But yeah. I still have three parts to me, and none of them are an excuse to feel as being nasty or to be nasty in general. Plurality isn't an excuse. Now, what your friend did, is also not the way to go about it.

@tardis I do agree that pluralism should never be used as an excuse to be a jerk. But as humans, we are allowed to have parts of us feel things and not act on those feelings. A person assumed I like to act like a jerk because of a comment a plural made. I don't. I temper that part of me because I respect my friends and neighbors on this planet. And that got me upset. I just don't appreciate being misread and not confronted about it. Because I agree that we should be able to explain why a plural feels a certain way, even though all of me doesn't feel that way. But I never got that chance.

Yeah, pluralism should not be used, no for anything. Plurality, on the other hand, should not be used as an excuse to be a jerk ever. Parts is the same as alters and headmates, in that terminology, they are similar. Pluralism is a different term than plurality, so be careful with it. It's a good coexistence, but not of people or parts, rather systems. But if one part feels one way, and no one else feels that same way, there must be a discussion to reach consensus between all. And usually, these things are kept to one's self, so as not to harm others and yourselves in the process. Sharing and even transparency, should have boundaries. Always. And I think that one, you do good by sharing, but a lot of boundaries and privacy practices are missing from that sharing of feelings, stories, etc. I'm not trying to be judgemental, but next time you disagree within yourself, discuss it with yourself. Also, I hold my beliefs through years of discovery. Parts of us are our compartmentalisation that exists for us to be able to cope. However, no matter whether it's parts, alters, headmates, they are you, your brain, your mind, your conscious and deeper levels even, so you, as the identity, the person, take responsibility for all that happens. It's not good to blame parts of you, it won't make you feel better, it might harm you accidentally, which will end up harming others too in the process. Therefore, plurality comes not from external sources, it comes from within you, the person that you are, to cope with what you could and cannot cope with if your mind were to be whole. You are a pizza, and the parts are the slices, therefore, the slices of the pizza are still the pizza, even though they are cut. Same goes with our minds, brains, etc. So if we say we feel one way, but a part of us feels another, it's hypocritical at the least. Like having multiple faces for social media, and home, etc. And actually, every person is multiple persons: one for work, one at home, they are just not aware of it, it's automatic. But yes, I know what plurality is, I'm OSDD diagnosed, I am no longer struggling, but that's a different topic. So assuming how much someone knows, or thinking you kno better than them, is not nice. Our xp is different,background, environment, family, living. Although many of us live through similar situations, experience living through them shows the difference.

@tardis I felt comfortable riting about it because this is a dissonance I solved years ago. But you know, writing about plurality is a work in progress. I could have written about working through that dissonence. But my goal was to really delve into conveying how one plural reasons over another. I appreciate your feedback as I learn how to convey my thoughts in a more palletable way.

Yeah, understandable. :) I appreciate your opinion too, because I've definitely struggled with feeling certain ways about people, but other parts of me, not me. I also do not refer to them as headmates or alters, one, because they are already in my head, the second is because it sounds like a game, and I don't exactly feel bad or comfortable writing, but I'm super private, about a lot of stuff. Until a year ago, I had a lot of issues with trying to convey messages through my thoughts in any kind of form, be it written or spoken,but my untraditional for the West treatment has actually helped a lot with that part. To where I read and re-read people's writings, because communication got screwed somewhere along the way, probably because I have mostly lived alone for a big part of my short life. And plurality medically didn't unlock until 8 or so years ago, when I learned how to be silent and then shocked, and then aware, confused, etc. You'd tell me something today, and I would've forgotten it a minute later.
