for all you @postmarketOS and other @linmob users, if you use zx2c4's password store (pass) to manage your passwords, you should check out Identities!

I already used pass to manage my passwords, but when I quickly needed to check my credit card PIN at the store, I had to fumble around with a terminal on a touch screen. Extremely annoying. That's why I made Identities! Now my PIN is just a few taps away, no terminal required.

I continue to be amazed at how absolutely mind-blowingly resource efficient Reaper is 🤯

I keep adding tracks, takes, lane comps & plugins to this project (there's more than twice the tracks off-screen) & it just keeps on truckin', no hiccups or skips during playback or recording, on my ancient 2012 Macbook Pro... 🙌

Killer quote:

“I’m going back to the Fediverse. Back to Mastodon. To the nerds, the hobbyists, the idealists. The people who don’t talk about reach, but about relevance. To those who understand that decentralization isn’t nostalgic, it’s the future. That digital sovereignty isn’t a gimmick, it’s a survival strategy.“

Betty's been eating exclusively raw since I adopted her in 2020. Chicken+bones, frozen salmon (never frozen is dangerous), and supplements.

The vet was like "Is she really 9 years old? She looks to be in amazing health"

Yeah stop feeding your pets the absolute fucking garbage the pet food industry is shoveling out. It's not fit for any animal to be eating.

Her bloodwork results: perfect.

The number one thing harming your pets is the food you're feeding them. Stop it.

Hello Mr. feld,

Sorry I didn't get a chance to call you earlier today; I had multiple emergencies on my hands.

Betty's bloodwork results came in and everything looks great. Her complete blood count and organ function tests are all normal. I will see you next week for surgery.

Sincerely,
The Vet

An interesting upcoming law in Canada that will change the tone of the hiring process quite a bit on January 1st, including obligations to disclose the expected compensation range and inform interviewees of the job's vacancy status and interview results within 45 days.

The people who keep saying crazy shit like "California should secede" clearly failed to be brainwashed by the Pledge of Allegiance they were forced to say in school every day

"one nation, under God, INDIVISIBLE, with liberty and justice for all"

They were literally trying to pound it into your head that you can't secede. It's not possible.

Please note this is not satire. I say again, I am 99% sure this is not satire but is from a Humanware email I just received.
"The BrailleNote Touch Plus – My First Notetaker runs on Android 8.1. For the best experience, we recommend keeping internet use limited. HumanWare supports only the built-in KeySoft applications, ensuring a secure and dependable learning environment."

A decade ago, I was an invited expert at a meeting to review the technical architecture of a £330m fraud detection system for Universal Credit at the UK Treasury.

My conclusion was that the proposal was not only massively over-priced (basically fraud-levels of overcharging), but that the system as designed would obviously have issues where automated decisions would leave vulnerable people in dire straits, against the legal requirements.

And so it goes: theguardian.com/society/2025/o…

I'm still curious what people get out of posting their meals on social media. Do people engage? Are you bored? I really, truly don't understand it and I'm always a bit confused. I want to hear about the good food you have sometimes, but every single day? And it's also mostly the same kind of thing? Why...

How does it even make sense for an open-source program that runs on one's own computer to require an account? Even if NV Access is compelled to require the user to log in before they can download the program, people will still be able to circulate copies as they like, and it's actually possible to verify that those copies are unmodified, thanks to Windows code signing.
