Listening to true crime cases from the 80s that "D&D Satanism scare" was some wild shit.

Was everywhere, propagated by sheriffs, detectives, unquestioning media, & the in-person equivalent of your out there Facebook relative.

Normies been fucked up about a lot of things for a long time.

Which brings me to the NIAID political hack normie so-called doctor equating mask hesitancy to acknowledging trauma:

ohai.social/@thatkatharine/113…

Mask / covid denial is the **OPPOSITE** of acknowledgment.

Denial is what you seek to create around you, not a safe space for trauma therapy.

Fuck.

Outta.

Here with that bullshit.

Can we place stop putting white people in positions to deny collective trauma? Thanks.

Tip for the "gotta meet em where they are at folks:" You do that by listening, modeling, and validating the valid. You don't do it by denying reality. You don't do it by feeding denial & modeling adverse coping strategies (such as not masking during a pandemic).

Literally part of the six levels of DBT validation.

co.grant.mn.us/DocumentCenter/…

People crave being heard. What they don't crave is cowardice equated as leadership when it comes to public policy that is meant to create a safe space.

None of this denial bullshit solves the problem, makes it better, makes it bearable. It actually perpetuates the insult, the trauma, through a #COVID19 carousel that people cannot disembark from.

White leadership's response to #COVID19 across the board, across all political parties, is a total failure of leadership, courage, validation, empathy, & willingness to stand taut against injustice that is a pervasive, arbitrary risk of disability from infectious disease.

Here's Carl Rogers, LISTENING to a black man's pain, rather than leading the discussion from the top down.

Levels of Validation:
- Shows interest
- Reflects
- Interprets and applies to other comments & thoughts
- Validates the valid
- Appreciates the emotion given the determinant causes of it, even anger.

All my colleagues have aged DECADES in the last 3 years because of all of these failures allowing COVID to age the shit out of their bodies. Despite the stress witnessing this has taken on me, I haven't, because I've had covid once and got lucky.

It's never too late to stand up and do the right thing for you and those around you. #WearAMask

When I see a world denying an airborne viral pandemic, and I have grown up seeing hand hygiene, cooking, boiling, and all sorts of other sterilization-centric activities intended to prevent disease embraced, *and on top of that* I see the consequences of COVID denial in front of my face, day after day, in the minds & bodies of the injured,

I start to feel like I learned that 2+2=4 but the majority of the 'professionals' around me did not get that -- that math, or reality, or a virus don't give a fucking shit about your desire to will 2+2=5 into existence. That reality is telling you to stop trying to make Fetch happen, ya bunch of covid denying Weiners.

that take, that we were traumatised by covid mitigations, and not by the death and destruction caused by the disease and its ongoing effects, is everything that is wrong with public health practice, laid bare

Endlessly kvetching about masks is one way to do it, another way to do it is to make the NAIAD explain why so many youngsters are displaying brain changes consistent with the onset of Alzheimer's Disease.

To be clear, I'm talking about stuff like this:
