Welcome to Penn Station, NYC. It's about 6:50 AM on March 3, 2019, and I'm waiting for a train to North Carolina. I recorded a few minutes of the station ambiance with my iPhone 8 and Shure MV88.

I don't think I've heard a US train station before, as I don't personally remember hearing this recording before.

@FreakyFwoof I posted a recording of myself riding the Washington, D.C. metro when I worked as an intern there in 2006 to the random voiceposts directory of our now-defunct TBRN folder. And writing the above makes me feel very old and a little sad.

Your station sounds so vastly different from Paddington, unless you're not where trains are pulling in, are you in a waiting room not near tracks?
Paddington ambiance sounds like a lot of lorry/truck engines as many trains are diesel.

@FreakyFwoof Indeed so. For a while, at Newark Penn Station, they were using Loquendo Dave.
