The Kibbutz and related instances will NEVER federate with Threads, Tumblr, or Flipboard. We will also block any Bluesky bridges.

However, we have not signed #fedipact for a few reasons. Since some people have wondered why we have not signed fedipact, or if we don’t federate with threads since we haven’t signed, I felt I should clarify:

Primarily, the inaccessibility of the website to disabled users (colors, animations, etc) is a major concern of ours. We don’t see a reason to sign fedipact when several of our users won’t even be able to read through the list to find us.

There are other smaller reasons as well, but they’re mostly negligible. The lack of accessibility of the project is our major concern, which is why you can’t find us on it (though if this is ever fixed, we will gladly sign!).

Do note though, that, despite not signing, we are FULLY COMMITTED to keeping threads defederated permanently, and efforts to publicize the harm of federation.
