Is There a Group for Brand New Users?

!Friendica Support Hi!

I'm trying out Friendica coming from #diaspora. On diaspora the interface is super-simple, largely because it doesn't offer all the cool features (most of which I probably won't ever use anyway) that Friendica does, but I really like the groups! I can "kinda-sorta" do groups on d* by creating "Aspect categories," but it sure isn't the same.

I thought I saw a group just for us rookies to get tips and tutorials and such, but my instance doesn't list them. Is there such a thing for brand new Friendica users?

@Robin I'm not familiar with such a group off hand. But I will let you know another thing I love about Friendica, is that when you subscribe to other platforms groups, like Lemmy Communities, or Kbin/Mbin Magazines they show up like Friendica Forums. (some documentation says groups and some says forums, I say forums, just to keep it clear in my mind that GNU Social Groups don't yet work like this and show in your Friendica feed the same way RSS "friends" do).

@Robin .. I don't know.. but welcome! (Maybe you can create such a group..)

@xy.. It didn't show up in a search of forums using the terms #beginners, #new, and other related tags. I hardly think I'm qualified to start a forum, but if I do it might be for a different interest. Thanks for the welcome!

There are "groups" like aspects on D*, that's what you create from within your profile and "forum pages", those are community profile pages .

I guess you mean "forum pages"?

We probably should create a forum page for newbees, and it should be on forum.friendi.ca in my humble opinion.

If that isn't possible give me a call and we'll create it here on tupambae.org, the "common ground"!
