Just received a rejection email for the last job that I applied for with Red Hat about 2 months ago. I'm almost 59 years old. I am not going to get hired by Red Hat and to be honest, not sure why I keep trying. I've removed them from the list of companies that I want to work for. I'm too old for this shit.

Not sure if it's a good idea, but I think I am going to start applying to smaller open source companies. Probably a waste of time, but the worst that can happen is that I continue to receive rejection emails. Maybe I'll be told much sooner than 2 months that I'm not good enough to work for them.

Sorry, the frustration of being unemployed for more than a year is getting to me. I still love Red Hat and all that they do. I'm just done applying for jobs there.

our recruiting has never really been doing a good job at this. For as long as I've been with Red Hat there has been an internal joke that our recruiting is /dev/null for candidates. When I'm a hiring manager I don't let the recruiter reject applicants without my approval. I only let them reject candidates when they're from locations where we can't hire someone and they aren't willing to relocate or the money they are asking for is way above our budget.
BTW Red Hat doesn't freely hire people even within the USA. There are states where it's difficult for us to have an employee, perhaps that's the reason. But they should tell you that. Providing applicants with feedback is another thing we suck at. 🙁
