My new development/streaming setup is starting to take shape. Still need better cable management but getting there. Everything’s plugged in and running, at least :)

Going from two laptops and 2 external screens (4 screens total) to 1 desktop with 2 external screens. Having the multiview close on an arm let’s me use it as my monitor while streaming so I go directly into the Atem with 2 HDMIs and a DisplayPort to my main screen. Fedora Silverblue with GNOME 42 didn’t even blink; just worked :)

I can't imagine how nice it is having a silent pc :) Most people don't understand what a quest that is

It really is. No more having my hair stand on end every time the fans rev up :)

this setup is really sick AND sleek ! I really also like a lot your beige keyboard ! What model is it ?
in reply to Aral Balkan

And it is amazing to type on. Best keyboard I’ve ever typed on. (And yes, I’m old enough to have typed on the original IBMs, etc.) :)

That passive case looks amazing. Care to share the details on what that is exactly? I'm tired of my desktop case (it's over 15 years old at this point) and would love to grab something like that. Do share!

It’s a Streacom DB4. I got the system with a 5700g Ryzen processor from quietpc (UK, ships to Ireland but watch the VAT) :)
in reply to Aral Balkan

Thanks. I recently ugraded my aging setup to a Ryzen as well, but kept my old case. Really regretting that after seeing yours.

I see you got that "good feeling of oneness with cup rubber"! 👍

😆 That's the actual English slogan of Topre who build the nicely squishy key switches in your RealForce keyboard.

Hahaha, I didn’t know that :)

(And boy do I love this keyboard!) :)

I hear you. I got a Happy Hacking Keyboard from Fujitsu which also has Topre switches. It makes writing so satisfying!

How’re you with the form factor of that? I LOVE how they look but afraid it might be aesthetics over function (and I want someone to tell me I’m wrong so I can justify getting one) :P
in reply to Aral Balkan

You came to the right place! 😀

HHKB is my favourite form factor for non-split keyboards. The reason that I have several keyboards in this layout is that I much prefer its placement of Control, Backspace and the arrow keys. Putting features on a Function layer avoids moving my fingers far off the home row. The small form factor also shortens the distance to the mouse. It's all about function -- its inventor was an early UNIX pro.

I'm hacking happily!

Yeah, I get that a lot. :AngeryCat: BTW, the 60% form factor is nothing new. kbd.news/1970s-Cortron-keyboar…

Doh! I didn’t see the last line in your post preview. Was distracted by the pretty setup pictures.

nice setup, now if only I can manage to catch you doing a live stream. I seem to always miss them.
