It depends on the tld. Mostly porkbun is really good and cheap, but I could get a .me domain for 7 dollars less at cloudflare. Porkbun is my favorite though.

Well yeah, then go for it I guess? Always check with the renewal price, porkbun often has like 1st year deals, but even afterward they're pretty price worth. I had a bunch of domains there over the last 2 years and never faced any issues. Transferring the mentioned .me domain away worked fine as well. Just give it a try.
