Not sure how this is in the rest of the world but I am so amused by how digital #television works in the Netherlands right now.
I am switching to a new ISP next week which offers me internet and tv. TV is being handled entirely through a digital delivery method, nothing comng down the analog coaxial line, but rather a "mediabox" that is connected to the internet. All well and good, but I have a smart TV with a Chromecast from 2 years ago attached to it. While the ISP DOES have an app to essentially do everything the mediabox does (except pron, because google play doesn't like pron), neither my Android TV, nor the Chromecast, is seemingly able to install that app. Meanwhile, I know for a fact that the "mediabox" runs Android TV as I'm pretty sure it includes Talkback. SO ... what janky Chinese streamer knockoff device did they bully into running their not-quite-google-play-sanctioned app? :)
