Hi I need #cargobike encouragement. I'm looking to buy an original #yuba spicy curry. Problem is the Currie middrive motor is not supported anymore. Does anyone have experience converting that model to a third party middrive motor like bafang?

I'm going to boost, but I also suggest you include the hashtags #BikeTooter #Cycling to get more folks seeing this.

where are you - roughly? I know someone in Seattle that has quite a bit of experience with third party motors I could put you in touch with.

Maybe try reaching to Henry at https://www.bikeswift.com and tell them The Mederos sent ya :)
in reply to Eitan

ahh, ok. Henry is the first person I think of in seattle when it comes to aftermarket motors. Most of the old hats that used to work on them switched to Bosch and haven’t looked back

Don't know the answer, but I ended up buying used bike from Upway.co, and inventory varies and sometimes they have good deals. So if you fail at upgrade path, might be able to get something that meets your need with some patience.

So I think you would need to fabricate some adapter plate to get something like a M620 into the Currie motor mount holes. This reddit user has been making adapters for those wishing to ditch Bosch for Bafang https://www.reddit.com/r/ebikes/comments/pc1lqo/selling_conversion_kit_for_bosch_gen_23_to_bafang/

@jpanhans
Thanks. I reached the same conclusion. It's cool that someone is making those. I wish there was a bigger and more accessible market with different adapters. I wish #yuba sold those for their defunct bikes.
