I'm not sure in which MacOS version this feature was implemented, but I just set sound to show always on menu bar in system settings > control center, and now it's so much easier and quicker to set my system default sound output! #MacOS

@vick21 @TheQuinbox I haven't got into spoon. I've used my own keyboard maestro macros to set system default output as well as VoiceOver output. But the macros to set system default output would keep breaking with every new os, so gave up on using them. lol

@vick21 @TheQuinbox @FreakyFwoof So finally installed Hammerspoon. I remember seeing a webpage with list of curated scripts useful for VO users? Does anyone know?

Wow, I was looking for that setting, but couldn't find it. Is it in sounc? Also there's a shortcut to reach sound, but I forgot the keys, something with OPT+F12 d?

@tardis No, it's not under system settings > sound. It's under system settings > control center. Not aware of a shortcut.

Ah I see, well try the shortcut, I think it was this one, if not add in a control to the combination. It opens sound settings as well. :)
