I've got a serious and somewhat urgent request for the fediverse. I have a friend who's currently trying to get out of a domestic abuse situation with her child and is facing some financial difficulties.

Are there any financial resources in the United States for women in these situations? I'm at a loss for how to help her, and I don’t know what to look for.
