As the US considers banning TikTok
it is important to keep in mind the problem with the social media giant isn't legal jurisdiction alone. ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ

The problem with TikTok is #tiktok

We at Tuta are leaders in privacy & recommend avoiding TikTok completely. While this is our stance, it may seem contradictory that we have a Tuta Team account on the platform. ๐Ÿ‘‰ tiktok.com/@tutaprivacy

By using TikTok, we hope to educate its users, spread the word about privacy & why it matters.๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ

If only they were banning TikTok for privacy, rather than for the fact that all that data is going to a foreign government.

They have no problems with facebook being just as evil. :(

Same and more collected by FB, Twitter, etc. And already proven to be used against us. Why does that not get regulated or protect us. As others correctly said, itโ€™s not tik tok, itโ€™s the lack of privacy regulations and protection across the board.

They want that info. Thatโ€™s why they want to own tik tok, without changing anything.

The talk of keystrokes always fascinates me.

What do people mean by tiktok collecting keystrokes.

Does this mean that they send your keystrokes to their server more often than needed??

Also how good to add they track you through the videos you make.

I definitely smell political will in this post.

@Orca Hi there, we do regularly work with other privacy and security companies to publish open letters to politicians around the world to support strong privacy laws. One example of many can be found here: tuta.com/blog/open-letter-encrโ€ฆ
