well more advanced cities like Paris, Ljubljana or Kopenhagen try to reduce the amount of cars in the first place. Making parking slots available for better usage

Because trees drop sap, pollen, fruit, leaves, and seeds on the cars, and need regular trimming and care (expenses).

Also, birds hang out in trees and poop on cars.

I'm not saying I agree with this, just that those are the reasons.
