Yes, but only in a client like Thunderbird and K-9 Mail because it's an old E-Mail that people may find for some reason and or is tied to my Google Account which I need to regularly use, but 99% of my services have been switched to a different E-mail yet sometimes I need to use my Gmail address in case some random provider blocks my current Mailing-Service.

hell-to-the-NO. Not since 2014. I can safely say that whatever data Gmail has on me is long outdated. 😄
in reply to Tuta

yes but only for legacy things that i keep forgetting to change. Moving forward everything goes to Tuta.
in reply to Tuta

Yes because it has features that are not yet matched by newer vendors like Tutamail

@PC_Fluesterer

I was referring to some of the convenience features, that Tutamail still lacks, but I'm sure you got what I meant, so thank you for your sarcasm.

2/2:

- IMAP and SMTP - yeah, I get the transparent encryption paradigm, but not all email is encrypted, when the other party is non-Tuta hosted. In fact none of my email senders/recipients are on Tuta anyway.

As I said - these are not show-stoppers for me, I just miss the convenience.

Cheers, and keep up the good work!

Thanks for asking!

Don't get me wrong - I'm already a Tuta customer, getting the privacy angle and all. I'm also planning on steps necessary to gradually de-google my online presense. But there are some features that I'd like to have in an email client.

- Tags
- More robust filters with multiple actions
- Per-sender email signatures
- Two-way calendar integration - both Tuta's calendar events shared in external apps, and external apps' calendars shared in Tuta

I just use It for my backups, and some services for third party apps.

Yes, have many to fly under the radar of being suspicious over not having one and/or to manage various personas.
in reply to Tuta

Yes, because im using gmail too long time ago and can't and dont want migrate all to tuta. I do migration slowly and progressively. Too many people use my old mail address. :(
I have hotmail address too, it was recovery for gmail for example. :D Im too old ... :)
in reply to Tuta

mostly use it to sign up to sites and services, so all the junk email doesn't arrive in my main inbox.
in reply to Tuta

yes, I still use my Google account so I might as well use the free email service that comes with it
in reply to Tuta

Yes, I need it for GCS

(Maybe I don't need it to be gmail specifically but oh well, it came with it)

in reply to Tuta

Yes, I use gmail. Partly because of its spam filters, I have taken advantage of those for a long time and have an extensive set of rules and definitions set up. Probably the more important reason is filtering and categorizing that email so I can address it in a more organized fashion. I don't use it for anything that requires security, but until I discovered tutanoto.com I never equated any email with any kind of security. I'm beginning to use email for things I never would have before simply because tuta exists.
in reply to Tuta

yes, because I want to use my own clients (mainly @thunderbird and @k9mail ) which I cannot do with either you or @protonprivacy (granted the latter has the option, but only for desktops, which is insufficient for me)
in reply to Tuta

My gmail is ooold and there's ton of accounts still tied to it. From time to time I'll "transfer" an account or two, but that's kinda a lot of work to do that on every account
in reply to Tuta

You could remind people that it's possible to create a Google Account without a gmail address to use alongside with Google Android
in reply to Tuta

Still use it, because many of my account are link to that evil email 😞 . But I'm removing slowly what I can from it.
in reply to mikeTesteLinux

@mikeTesteLinux unlinking accounts can be time consuming... but totally worth it for your privacy! :)
in reply to Tuta

Unfortunately, Android doesn't work without a GMail account. I look forward to the day Google's monopoly would come to an end.
However, I haven't been using Gmail as a communication means for at least 4-5 years, but strictly to log in to the Play Store.
Same is true for all the other Google "free" products: Search, Maps, YouTube, Drive, Calendar, Pay, etc.
