This sounds almost exactly as our experience. We too "dropped" one of the fossil fuel cars in March and exchanged it with an electric car. Since then we used the "other" only for the holiday trip - the electric car has become our day-to-day car for all occasions. I am not sure how we will cope in autumn/winter but I am sure it will work!

And our small pv (7kWp) is more than enough for all our electrical needs (including a heat pump):

@bonkers Yes, their production definitely has an impact on environment, but the good news is that they're >90% recyclable. So the batteries we have will probably find a second life and once they're done for good, they will be recycled for raw materials to be used in new products. So while fossil-based energy needs new and new fossil sources, this has a potential to become part of circular economy.
