Today @RezzaBuh and I are going on an #evtrip in an electric car to pick up another electric car I've bought in Germany. So I thought I'd make a long post thread from the trip about the experience of importing a car from Germany and charging it on the way home. It will be a bit of an adventure because the car has a relatively small battery (55 kWh) and it will be 550km, all on the highway.

If you're not interested in the topic, just mute the #evtrip hashtag.

@adamhavelka Expensive. Carvago adds 60k CZK on the top of the original price. They charge 18k for delivering the car, but they also have hidden fees in increased price. They offer a car from the dealer I'm buying the car from and the price is 40k higher. The selection isn't great either. They only offer one E-tron in the price range while I could pick from dozens on mobile.de.
They also don't offer any extra assurances. I can return the car within 30 days (they have 14 days), the warranty is 12 months from the car maker (they have 6 months).
