I think my phone has too many megapixles

if I take a photo and attach it to a post, then hundreds of different servers all rush off to download two and a half megabytes of jaypeg off my home DSL line, and only about half of them are able to do so successfully

if I go into the photo editor and shrink it down to like 1600px wide and post that, it's a quarter-megabyte and guess what? you can't even tell the two photos apart!

oh apparently tusky already does this based on the instance API: github.com/tuskyapp/Tusky/issu… I'm sorry I doubted you tusky!!

however, my instance API claims the limit is 40MB despite my config file saying it's 1MB, so .... I guess something is screwy somewhere on my side

"there .... well, how should one say.... how DOES one say?"

"too many pixels, sire?"

"yes, that's exactly it! there are too many pixels; remove a few, and then it will be perfect"

"which few did you have in mind?"

Emperor Joseph from the film Amadeus in the scene where he is critiquing Mozart's work for having "too many notes"

wait a Note is actually a real life ActivityPub thing isn't it? so like the error message if you got rate limited for posting too fast could literally be #tooManyNotes
