@libreoffice I really like to use LibreOffice (and before that OpenOffice). But why is it impossible to type IJmuiden (a city in the Netherlands) in a spreadsheet field. Everytime it is transformed into Ijmuiden. Funny enough IJsselstein or Capelle a/d IJssel are correctly handled and not transformed. Why? How?

Well, you didn't provide any details about your setup (LibreOffice version, operating system etc.) so it's hard to say. But we just tried it in LibreOffice 24.8.3 and it works fine...

I'm sorry I didn't give enough information.
My setup: mac studio m2, sequoia 15.1.1, libreoffice 24.8.3.2 and I can type IJmuiden too but when selecting another field the string changes automatically to Ijmuiden. In the example provided the field is still selected.

Sorry for the late response! Still can't reproduce (when we select another cell, it remains as "IJmuiden" as expected). Maybe it's a language setting problem? Does it happen in any other apps (eg macOS is correcting it)? If you think it's definitely a LibreOffice-specific issue, you can report it at bugs.documentfoundation.org for the QA community to investigate. Thanks!

Thanks for the answer. I will do some testing and try to file a report.
