This is a wooden yarn box I made for my wife in 2017.
She knits & crochets a lot and the box keeps the balls of wool out of reach of the cats 😉
It's made from three different woods, Utile, Idigbo and Walnut.

A yarn box I made for my wife in 2017. A decorative wooden box with hinged lid. It has four compartments for balls of wool. In the front of there are scroll shaped apertures corresponding to each compartment, through which the wool is drawn.
The box front is made from Idigbo and the compartment separators and ends are made from Utile.
The box lid is made from seven strips of three different types of wood. the central strip which has a central raise to form a handle is made from Utile, Towards the front and towards the rear, are three strips of Idigbo, Walnut and Idigbo.
The hinges for the lid are made from Walnut.
