I think for my sanity I'll just block the whole damn pointless and stupid domain in #PiHole directly so I don't have to even think about it. the dot zip domain is literally one of the most incompetent tld's I have ever heard about and it only gets worse. https://youtu.be/V82lHNsSPww

Ya, I need to completely reinstall my pi hole. I haven't messed with it for a while. I think I am gonna buy a banana pi for it.

Gees!

Should everyone start packaging files as .7z or .rar archives now?

in reply to Andre Louis

Well, except for your shorts. But I understand why that is.

@queenslight And it's on my own domain anyway, so I trust it, and hope others trust the link too.
in reply to Andre Louis

Indeed!

Since 2002 I’d say? Regardless, it’s been around for years!

All of these big tech companies are just falling over themselves to try to outstupid each other in their choices these days. It is beyond ridiculous.
in reply to Andre Louis

Ok, so if you were to block the .zip domain, would that also affect your ability to go to, say, somesite.com/file/file.zip or something like that?
in reply to Brandon Tyson

@BTyson Nope, because the domain is higher than that. That's a path, not a domain.
in reply to Andre Louis

I figured that was the case, but just wanted to clarify.
in reply to Andre Louis

Honestly I don't like auto linking, unless you're smart like Mastodon, where it only links it if you put http or https at the start.
