I haven’t posted this publicly until now because I was terrified of the backlash I might get — but I need to share what’s happening because I don’t have many other options.
My family just found out that I openly support LGBTQ+ people, including trans folks. Since they learned this, they’ve started taking away things that matter to my future: they’re canceling my plans for school and cutting my phone bill. They’ve also threatened to cut off my internet entirely unless I stop supporting trans people and the rest of the LGBTQ+ community. I feel scared, alone, and angry — and I’m worried about what their decisions will mean for my education, my mental health, and my ability to stay connected to supportive people.
