As a blind person who appreciates access to information, anniversaries like this one are very significant and extremely meaningful to me. I remember purchasing the Franklin Language Master 6000 SE talking dictionary in 1992. I loved that device and I even recently bought a used one on eBay to replace my broken unit. I also have fond memories of rummaging through a Braille World Book Encyclopedia when I was a kid and I always hoped that one day we might have a fully accessible encyclopedia. In 1998, I acquired the Grolier’s Encyclopedia on a CD and that edition was fully accessible and I was so excited to finally have an accessible encyclopedia, only to be disappointed when a later edition was not as accessible. While Wikipedia is not edited by a corporation, it is a valuable and accessible resource for looking up lots of useful information. Thank you for your service.
