If you use the standard Mastodon user interface, It's amazing the amount of garbage you are spared from if you go to Settings / Filters / Add New Filter, check the marks "Notifications" and "Public Timelines", click "Hide Completely" and then in the field "Keyword or Phrase" you enter "Paisley Gates".

Click "Save New Filter". You're welcome.
