In today’s connected world it is nearly impossible to purchase a secure smartphone that is made in America.

As a matter of fact the most popular smartphones on the market are made overseas such as the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy smartphones.

May get even more impossible if #America keeps trying to become #Iran 2.0 especially in terms of #digital rights: Having a secure smartphone gets in the way since thought control is hard, how can we "fight crime" if people are able to think and communicate so freely?!

Also difficult to purchase one in #Europe at least my side of it. Not because of laws thankfully, but because devices like #Librem #Purism #PinePhone aren't readily sold in stores here even online which sucks horribly.

If I did not trust my government to spy on me - and that is always the threat; governments don't care about tracking citizens of other countries - why would I buy a phone made in my own country? A government has more influence to wield over domestic producers than it does one in another country.
If I needed a secure phone I would certainly buy the Chinese made Librem 5 phones. I really don't care if the CCP knows the intimate details of my life. I DO care that my own government would.
