@mixxx I see several topics about #Rust on Zulip. Is it theorical or there is an ongoing work to port the engine to Rust? I'd be very interested in working on this although I don't have any prior experience in sound development or C++ and Rust is still very new to me.

We are not looking to do a full port. We have been investigating the possibility of rewriting individual subsystems in Rust. Is there a specific part of the application that interests you?

I don't know. Something really easy for a start. Is there already a compilation pipeline setup for Rust? Which Zulip channel should I join to discuss that?

there is no Rust code in Mixxx yet. There is a rekordbox exporter under development that is in Rust: https://github.com/Holzhaus/rekordcrate.
