so i noticed they didn't mention trying yacy.
also pretty much nobody does it seems.

and i made a comment pointing this out but it looks like it was auto removed 🤔 normally this happens with links but i guess youtube has become more touchy about EVERYTHING except what they really should be touchy about 😆

There's a reason why I don't mention Yacy: I don't find it useful.

Illustrates to me that people generally don't know what they're asking for when they ask for a pure-p2p search engine. Federated better! Though I would be happy p2p hosting.

I find it rather useful because i can fine tune what i find on it.

a good combination would be yacy and searx, you can use primarily yacy and than fill in the gaps with the other search engine results.

I suspect that if p2p or federated "search"' is possible, it would take the form of search agents that report back from time to time, rather than ad hoc searches with instant results.
