I knew pretty early that the EU regulation for IM interoperability is not going the way we want it to go. However the regulator is now looking at push services (FCM, APNS) and I believe we can make some real impact there. We have working solutions and our demands are significantly more actionable.

I was just going to say that there is a 5 year revision to DMA where messaging interop regulations can be amended but I see the public consultation recently closed: digital-markets-act.ec.europa.… However it is henceforth reviewed every three years, but it needs people with the right expertise to engage with it. Hope XMPP folks (XSF board etc) have an eye on this kind of thing!
