That is very noble of you. But I certainly wouldn't fault you if you made a donation link at least easier to find. Free software only exists because its developers are in the privileged position of being able to afford the time for maintaining it. If a FOSS developer wants financial help, I think it's totally okay for them to ask for it. I think it's okay for FOSS developers to also have some "benefit". Thank you for conversations and all the work around it you do! ❤️

I agree with not soliciting reviews, being able to pay people to work on the project would make a lot of stuff easier and would lead to faster development.

For example, it's impossible to expect someone to do a code review in a short amount of time when they're not being paid for that work.

I know you're aware of all of this, but wanted to state it explicitly as this example and many others often get overlooked.

Gotcha, we have this new notification view in pidgin 3 and I've be contemplating adding a notification that shows up once a month or something in it mentioning donations. That said, it'd be nice if there was trying to disable it but then again, I'd guess most linux distros would patch it out anyways...
