are there any text tutorials for euro fly 3? #audiogames
in reply to Talon

@talon thanks for the offer. but my memory is a bit fuzzy so having something to refer to helps. ☺ too bad I dont have the patients to go through audio tutorials.

I meant I could write down a step by step guide on how to perform your first training flight.
in reply to Talon

@talon Does the process differe much from the previous version.

@talon If you did this, I would elevate you to the position of god. I can't decide if the game is too complicated, if it's even really a game, if the tutorials are too laboriously detailed, if video as the delivery medium is the problem, or a combination of some or all of the above. I think there are also some bugs that allow me to get into states I just don't understand.

@jscholes There are a few keys I forgot to mention in the doc. I'll add them later. But while you're in the air you can press semicolon to check the current terrains height above sea level. Y tells you your current altitude above sea level. Control semi will scan ahead at your current altitude and tell you the next closest object at your current vector. So if you press that and it mentions something very close, you're on a crash course. You will always lose a fight with a mountain.

@talon @jscholes I haven't waded through all the video tutorials and such but I'm mostly curious ... do we actually have instrumentation in this version? Stalling alarms, terrain warnings and such? That always bothered me about eurofly 2. I'd crash and it would just take me out of immersion because I know a bit about how planes work and the distinct lack of sirens telling me I did a bad was disturbing :P

@zersiax @jscholes yeah kind of, in category 3 planes I think. You have GPWS, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like it would in real life. It definitely doesn't sound like it. But I haven't gotten to that part yet, not sure if I will, so I can't speak from experience. There is a recording on YouTube though.

@zersiax @jscholes If you know a bit about how planes work then you may have some reservations about how you land planes in this game lol
