hay peoples of the mastoland, I have a little feddy question for yee all. I have noticed that some people have a colon(:) after there name followed by some sort of thing that looks like it is meant to represent something. I am curious as to weather clients are meant to do something with this. I have listed some examples below. Is this just something people are meant to know or is it something that clients are meant to do something with?:

:therian: I no what a therian is, but is the :: syntax a thing for this kind of descriptor?
There are others, but I can't find them right now. #fediverce #fedi #symbolism

For the ones we have, the descriptions are on our about page. As for custom remote emoji, we've been asking for alt text for them forever, but we're not getting it it seems.
