So, I'm kidna venting in a way but I assure you that my venting has merit.
I have a friend who is going through terrible depression right now, so much so that she can barely function in her daily life.
This person has been nothing but amazing to me, walked up to the blind guy and said orientation when noone else did? check! Offered to hang out with me and bring me around on said orientation day? check. She has even given me notes that she adapted for me from our college lectures. She is all-round a lovely girl, with a heart of gold. Someone somewhere on my Discord said that the nicest, kindest hearted people suffer, no truer word has been ever spoken.
I recently watched a TDX talk by a guy named Max Strom who pointed out that we are taught to hide grief, hide anger, and generally hide our negative emotions. Society has failed people with depression. Keeping in emotions results in emotional numbness, make sure you find a way to let it out.
I care about this girl, and her well-being very much and I worry about her.
Depression tends to cause people to think unrealistic things.
No matter who you are, just remember that there's at least one person, if not more thinking about you, rooting for you and trying to think how they can help you best. It might seem like it at times, but if your struggling, know your not alone out here and that there is hope.
Know that the statement: "noone would miss me if I was gone" is not true, can't be true and never will be true. We all have different amount of friends and people in our lives, but one person somewhere in the world cares about you. In my opinion, that's all you need, one person who gives a shit about you.
If you got to the end of this rambly rant, thank you for reading, I won't make posts like this very often but felt a mental obligation to write this one.
