@robini71 Yep, around $17,900.00, if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure it'll come down in price over time, though. Remember how expensive 20-cell Braille displays were back in the '80s.

@robini71 And now you've got Orbit Research selling multi-line displays for the cost of a single line 40-cell display and so I think we'll see price drops over time.

@robini71 has anyone actually owned a Orbit Slate though. I can find zip on them. I know they aren't perfect, but depending on if they really work, it could meet my needs. I couldn't care less about graphics.

@robini71 The price I could almost deal with. What I can't deal with is that membrane. I literally could not read the display with it on.

@robini71 I mean… The 80s were like 40 years ago. I’d like to be able to play with something like this before I am eligible for Medicare. What individual is going to pay 18,000 bucks for a first generation product? And I thought android based Braille notetakers are crazy expensive for what they are.

@Cristobalm @robini71 I think these devices are primarily being marketed in the education sector and perhaps some instances in the corporate sector. It's similar to how Kurzweil reading machines used to cost around fifty thousand dollars in the '70s.
