In recognition of Black Fungi, here are four mushrooms that are, wait, what? Black FRIDAY? Well that’s dumb. That’s not what you came here for.

Anyway, here are 4 black FUNGI.

A large fruiting of dark gray - black slightly bulbous finger-like mushrooms growing out of the detritus near a dead tree trunk. Many are silo shaped while others are warped and bowling pin shaped. They have cracked stubby ends and are tightly packed together. Each is approximately 2 inches high.
Closeup of what appears to be a great puffball, about the size of a marble sitting atop six black petals that are slightly pushing itself off the lead scattered ground. The petals have white scabby patches and are actually fungi that are part of the entire mushroom.
Closeup of a black, scaly mushroom on the forest floor. The stem and cap are black and a bite has been taken out of the stem which is even blacker.
Looking straight down onto the unfurling ear-like sheaths of a mushroom. The margins are frilly and somewhat curled inward. The inner lining of the mushroom is black white the outer surface is gray ( difficult to see here.)
