I have to admit I haven’t played any Steam or console games in the past few months, though I’m looking forward to getting back to the one where you use the keyboard to enter characters one by one that you then assemble into sentences, paragraphs, chapters, and (eventually) books.

Any #accessible #games on #steam you recommend? Something that would work on like, 16 gigs of ram and won't make everything on its way die. I'll be glad to hear your suggestions

I want to talk about #accessibility in #gaming for a minute. I consider myself a gamer. I love finding #games I can play, and they're a great way to fill time stuck in bed or waiting at doctor appointments, but because of my multiple #disabilities, I'm more limited than some on what I can play. I've been mostly sticking to text-based games or games where sound isn't critical, but I want to try some #audiogames, and after I explain why I haven't, I'm hoping other #blind people can give me some suggestions.
Some of you might know that I'm both totally blind and #autistic. Because of my #autism, I can get easily overstimulated if a game has a lot of sound coming at me all at once. My sense of direction and where I am in space is also not very good, so I might get lost in games with complex maps. I don't mind that as long as there's no timer or anything like that. I also can't keep a mental map in my head. If a sound is supposed to be coming from a certain direction, there are a lot of times that I can't tell where that sound is coming from, even with headphones on, so I might misinterpret that cue. Finally, high-pitched sounds also worsen my chronic #headaches.
There are quite a few text-based games and others where sound isn't critical, but I know there are several great audiogames out there, too, and I'm just wondering which ones might be playable for me. As long as there aren't a bunch of sounds coming at me at once, too many high-pitched sounds, or a lot of directional sound cues, I think I could play it. Does anyone know of any games I might be missing out on?

I'm having a blast playing #YakuzaZero - the fucking range in the story of their (side) quests and things to do in the #game are... insane. One minute I'm teaching a small band that got unexpectedly popular among Yankis on how to be more appealing to Yankis for their fan interview session by telling the vocalist to start by saying HELLO and other random English words his fans wouldn't understand, another member to say that he rescues puppies during his pastime, and the drummer to stay silent throughout the panel. Next, I'm helping a kid to recover his prized purchase, a now sold out SEGA console stolen by a high schooler, who got it stolen by a salaryman, who got it stolen by a Yakuza - with a twist to later find out that said Yakuza stole it to give to his son, and the kid we're helping and got his console stolen IS the Yakuza's son lol. Then, I was in a quest to help a middle/high schooler who suspects his girlfriend is selling sexual services, and I'm supposed to find out if it's true, then later found out that she was instead selling her worn clothes to creepy men. I haven't even finished that last quest but we can be confident that it will end with yet another insane twist. While juggling through these quests, I dabbled in its insane number of "mini-games" found throughout the city including Karaoke (singing as the main char, #Kiryu, who's also #Misuzu from #NatsumeYuujinchou is a blessing to all ears), dance in a club, discovered a shady little store that sells porn DVDs, participate in Tamiya tourneys, play Shogi, hit up SEGA Arcade places, and too many more. All the while, also, eating at Konbinis, Ramen shops, bars, BBQ places, and Takoyaki stalls to recover health. This game is even more bizarre than #HideoKojima#games, seriously.

Doom 1 and 2 are now officially licensed under the #GPL, no longer dual-licensed with the DSL :)

Oort seems like a pretty fun Rust programming game. The idea is that you get to program ships to engage in space combat. Similar to other games such as Space Traders.

The idea is pretty cool, but it uses a web editor to input the code and it is not accessible, so I can't use it. Pity.

A video game that I've played more times than I can count, that I'm SO EXCITED is getting a remake, is Knights of the Old Republic. I can't overstate how much impact this game has had. If you haven't played it before, it's available on a ton of platforms & I HIGHLY recommend it, especially if you love Star Wars. If you have played, what's your favorite Star Wars game & why? Here's me as Bastila with guest star Revan at Star Wars Celebration ❤️ #KOTOR #BastilaShan #Revan #StarWars #cosplay #games

Hi I'm Jay! I'm a writer, editor & developer who works in comics, games & books. I love #scifi, #fantasy & especially #StarTrek, #StarWars, #WheelofTime, #TheWitcher and way too many more to tag. BIG #BioWare fan, so expect to see loads of #MassEffect and #DragonAge here. I'm also a cosplayer with 120+ costumes. I stream video games, comics discussions, #TTRPG, art & cooking. I LOVE talking #comics, #cosplay & #games, so feel free to hit me up! Boosts appreciated ❤️

#Introduction time!
My name is dos; some call me Sebastian. I made dozens of small silly video #games and some slightly less small ones too. I'm one half of @holypangolin studio. Sometimes I pretend to be a musician, but don't get fooled. I'm also a living encyclopedia on a Polish rock band "Perfect". Trams are cooler than trains. The more caramel, the better. I've been using GNU/#Linux on #mobile phones for ages, which led me to work with @purism on the Librem 5. btw I use Arch, but I ❤️ Debian!
