Bit more attention now in the press to ‘spay clause’ 104 in the Online Safety Bill. This is what we are sounding a ‘red alert’ over. Index on Censorship acquired a legal opinion by Matrix Chambers saying it would contravene two articles in ECHR. Building on @openright aanyalsis and briefing. If you are in the UK take action and start causing a fuss. https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/online-safety-bills-spy-clause-will-pave-way-for-state-mandated-mass-surveillance-of-whatsapp-messages-2005430

We are the front line of a global war on encryption. If we can’t fend off this sort of mass surveillance in a liberal democracy then all of humanity gets put in a darker path towards authoritarianism - look at people fighting against surveillance states in China and Hong Kong to see where this goes! #onlinesafetybill #privacy #clause104 come on fellow Brits. Let’s tell our MPs to drop the spy clause https://action.openrightsgroup.org/write-your-mp-help-stop-online-safety-bill
