just a heads up: posts like these are terrible for users with screen readers. I've seen people use a content warning or just take a screenshot and add an image description.
I got my mom on Linux it's safer then win10/11 that logs every file even drives after you unplug them, I set her up with oprea browser on windows and installed the same browser on Linux so she knows how to use it, and she likes the organization of the menus it makes more sense and is a hell of a lot easier to find her games etc.
@H0W25 @Mika We will not, but we might launch with browser support, and desktop clients will follow a bit later. No worries, there will never be a Windows desktop client before there isn't one for Linux.
Are you planning on offering different ways to install your app on Linux than an AppImage file? Tuta is the only app that every time I start my Ubuntu I have to find and double click the tutanota-desktop-linux.AppImage file to start.
All other apps I use all the time I can start from the dock and then they start in the same position and with the same window size as I last used them.
I read your latest blog post regarding Instagram. You are absolutely right that a alternative is needed. However, the fact that you talk about Bluesky, Mastodon, and Pixelfed as the best alternatives while completely leaving out Nostr doesn't really fit with Tuta! I'm particularly concerned about Bluesky! Even Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Bluesky, has distanced himself from it and has been supporting Nostr for a while now. I think you just haven't fully grasped this yet.
