Btw the tuta.com(mail domain) is paid product. It took me sometime to realize that.

@osslate You can already export, of course, we just want to make it even easier. Here's the explanation: https://tuta.com/support/#import

at the very least you should be upfront with your customers and tell them "if you choose us as your email provider, you will not be able to move all of your data to another provider."

I just want a privacy respecting email provider that allows for easy backup and restore of my emails. An export feature has been the most requested feature, and "planned" for more than 7 years now. https://www.reddit.com/r/tutanota/comments/48rsp8/can_i_download_my_emails/d0w4zyy/

@lrss Export has already improved a lot with our desktop clients: https://tuta.com/support/#import

A single click export is also planned!

I am a paying customer for the past 5 years, but I can't keep accepting this obvious "Walled Garden"-approach. How is this backup/restore feature not a priority?

@lrss We need to prepare the backend for higher load - it's part of what we are working on already with import, which has very high priority, but it takes time. Thanks for your patience!

@osslate Yes, please use the desktop client for exporting, it works best.
