I wonder if anyone here is using or has used Humanware’s StellarTrek device for actual heavy-duty travel? I am trying to read more about its features, but cannot find too many on this website: https://store.humanware.com/hus/stellartrek.html
Thx for any ideas!

My tessting of these devices in the past shows that the features are usually excellent but their maps are often older, not having sufficient details. The updates come quarterly or every six months. You'd have to check and make sure that you get the coverage you need. You can always supplement with apps like Goodmaps explorer or Soundscape.

@ppatel Got it, thanks a lot. I'd rather not rely on any supplements, :), otherwise, what's the point of spending so much money if I now have to use my phone in addition? :)

What does it do that a GPS app or two on the iPhone won't do?

I really don't see the sense of spending such an outrageous amount of money on a blind ghetto device like this. If you want a device with buttons instead of a touch screen, I wonder would the Blind Shell phone along with some apps from its catalog approximate what this thing does for a fraction of the cost? The last time I looked at the price on this it was almost $2000 Canadian.
