Me: My bank card does not work anymore with #NS. It worked great for the last 3 years.
NS: Which bank are you using?
Me: Revolut
NS: Revolut cards have been blocked because people were making frauds with them.
Me: Then I would like to file a complaint. I never failed to pay anything, you should not block my card.
NS: OK I report this in our complaints system.
Me: Will I get some response on how this complaint was dealt with?
NS: Since this is not an urgent matter you'll get no response.

@vbabka that's an interesting question whether Visa/MC are stronger than EU. Because even though the EU has written into SEPA regulation that all IBANs of the euro zone are equal, there are still so many cases of IBAN-racism in both private and public sector - including governmental institutions.

@smveerman @marlies indeed, they work. But if I need to pick up a card from the pocket then I can also just pick up the OV-chipkaart.
The convenience of opening the gates with the phone is gone.

Also, if I start a journey with Arriva or Blauwnet and then switch to NS, I'll be forced to use a different card with them which means the trip would be broken into two separate ones. I wonder whether NS would compensate that price difference caused by them. (But I'm probably too lazy to try that.)

@smveerman @marlies I don't think this is a decision on bank side. Before it was banned, this charging straight after checkout happened even with Revolut cards. Actually it's still the case with GVB. It started soon after the RTL coverage two years ago.

Daily caps are not an issue - GVB has them - bigger issue is probably the fee per transaction. I'm pretty sure the transaction worth € 0,07 ended up as a negative income.
