I consider myself an expert on #NS #VIRM trains but there's still something to learn. Like this unit number 8741 has the interior of the newest modernisation, but on the outside, it looks like the 1st series modernisation, in contrast to what the app is showing.

Apparently this was the modernisation prototype before the Flow livery was introduced.

Another almost shocking experience with an onboard electrical outlet. ⚡

Apparently many people travel with chargers manufactured so poorly that the pins hold stronger in the outlet than in the charger itself.

I don't have any insulated tools with me, nor have I seen any staff to report this to, so this will probably stay like this for a while in the ABv6 part of #NS #VIRM 8640.

On the opening day of the new GB Terminal in Amsterdam, #NS came out with a promotional video that features a lot of people pretending to be travelling.
It is probably easier to hire a lot of actors than to ask real passengers for permission.

Dirty windows of #NS trains are well known, but unfortunately the same disease is affecting even flagship trains of #Eurostar, 400m long E320. Of course, they are still run by NS International and probably receive treatment by NS facilities, so it's not that big of a surprise.

The biggest achievement of the #NS app this year so far: it finally shows correct pictures of newly refurbished VIRM trains. 🥳

The picture was ready on the web server for a long time but now finally the API is providing the correct link:

Dat komt naar voren uit een rondvraag van de NOS onder grote verkopers van drankjes. Op dit moment zijn er veel te weinig inzamelpunten voor een goedwerkend inzamelingssysteem.

Today I was lucky enough to ride the last non refurbished #NS #VIRM-III number 8746 which is due to refurbishment in January.
This is probably my last ride on a VIRM without red/blue seats or closed toilet system.
