hopefully you guys can implement a system like simplelogin one day. I have about 15 subscriptions alone and entering an alias like subscriptions@tuta.com would mean i would have to change my email on all 15 subscriptions in case of an email breach.

While I abuse aliases like crazy, I'm not a fan of being able to log into my account with them. I'd love to keep my primary login fully private so hackers can't try try guess my login credentials just because an alias was caught in a data breach.

@mikelius Hi there! While we do not offer an email proxy at this time, you can dedicate one of your Tuta alias for your online accounts. If the address is ever leaked and starts to receive spam, you can deactivate it and create another one.

If you would like to use an external email aliasing service, we would recommend addy.io. Their code is published using an open source license and they seem to be privacy friendly overall.

I appreciate the response! Just to clarify my message, I meant if I had the email abc123@tuta.io and then created xyz311@tuta.io as an alias, I'm now able to log into tutanota using xyz311@tuta.io. I find this a security flaw and think, ideally, we should only be able to log in using our actual email account we signed up with. :)

@mikelius Hello! :) With Tuta even if you have alias addresses you can only log into your account with your primary email login details - so the actual account you signed up with.

Oh then this might be a bug if not intentional. I just opened a browser to double check if it was still possible, and I was able to successfully login using one of my aliases as my username. :(

@mikelius Sorry, what was said earlier is wrong: You can login with the alias as well. To safeguard your login credentials, we recommend adding a second factor (best a hardware key): Something you have makes your login so much more secure compared to something you simply 'hide' like an alias.
