Back doors are built into all Chinese made computers/phones. It's not hacking when you have the keys. China isn't alone in doing this. Our government is upset because we don't make that stuff here anymore with our own back doors.

i agree, torjan horse would be more appropriate than "backdoor". but its also easy to inadvertently euphemize when we're trying to communicate effectively. just look at what you did when you used "make encryption less effective" instead of "thought control" for client side scanning.

Keep in mind that Apple thinks Interoprability as required by the DMA already is s security threat. So trusting in Apple might not be better. Someone has to tell them the difference of backdoors and interop.
