Why gdm exists? Why it doesnβt work like android where the device stays at the shell lock screen? Genuine question I donβt really understand how it works #gnome
GDM *is* the thing that handles locking and unlocking the session, as well as the login; what you see is GNOME Shell in a special mode, and it uses GDM to log into your session, both for the first time, and every time you unlock it
