The description says it's based on an Android platform. Can the user install third-party Android apps, either from an app store or via side-loading?

@kaveinthran Out of curiosity, is anybody reading this post going to purchase the BT Speak or Orbit Speak? They both seem nice to have, but I don’t feel like I could justify the price when I can do everything with either my iPhone or my light weight laptop. Heck, I’m typing this post using braille screen input on my iPhone. (1/2)

@Lprazdnik I do understand these are very different products, but given the BTSpeak is using open-source hardware and software with seemingly minor modifications, it's hard not to feel like the unit is overpriced compared to this. We know that the Raspberry Pi compute module in the BTSpeak is pretty affordable, it sounds like both have had work put into custom applications and a custom launcher, and while the BTSpeak does have a desktop environment on it, it's once again leveraging existing open-source tech to make that happen. I wonder what the real story is.
