Gmail, Outlook, they all offer an “Unsend” feature – but did you know that this only delays sending your email?

Yeah, you wouldn’t be able to trust any e-mail server to actually process unsend requests. And yes, I use the unsend feature, because I could forget to attach a file or something else, after hitting the send button.

Yes, I have mine set to delay sending for a minute so I have time to realize I just screwed the pooch.

Just make it an option in the settings.

Then those who prefer to be able to "unsend" can have that option on, and those who prefer to be able to send emails without that delay can have that option off. Then everyone can get what they want.

There's a type of typos that can only be discovered after hitting “send” (basically Schrödinger's typo), like “Dear Sir or Adam”, so having such a feature can be really valuable.

If I'm correct it was just a spin-off from a google experiment function that would keep your emails from being send on weekend nights to avoid sending drunken emails to your boss/friends and then you had to 'approve' them in the morning to be actually send.

The 'unsend' function is so obvious that it's just delayed, but I did use it a few times to correct grammar.

I don’t use the features on the clients you mentioned above, but I do on another one and the unsent message goes into my draft, so I can fix any typos or other errors I might have typed.
