I closed the #gemini PR for #curl just now with no action, but I'm encouraging a new one to get filed later on when ready for the next step: github.com/curl/curl/pull/1117…

honestly, I'm a little excited by this.

There's a brutal simplicity to Gemini that helps rip out the malaise of the modern web by institution of a protocol that plain doesn't support it and I like the idea

@adora I'm casually optimistic about gemini, but I'm not at all sure that anyone is actually going to end up doing the necessary work to get a quality implementation to land in curl... I've already closed previous PRs with the same goal.

oh, same - Gemini has always had a follow through problem and I'm glad you aren't rushing into it considering there's a lot the community needs to do first

But I'm cautiously optimistic. :)

And I'm glad you are willing to entertain the thought , because your opinions on the web hold a lot of weight - curl is foundational to how most developers interact with the web, and you are known for delivering mature, well thought out projects, so even your not saying no outright is a real compliment.
