1) Some people’s posts automatically delete after a certain time, & they do not authorize sites preserving past posts.
2) Some #Mastodon instances content are copyrighted, opening up a potential lawsuit
3) @boyter may lose out on future jobs or with future clients, as scraping sites without permission will hurt his reputation
As @aral stated: it should be opt-in
