@xurizaemon several years ago already, the top users I know of did one million requests/second on average. That's *one site* doing 86 billion requests per day. Times many users. Times a gradual growth over 25 years.

Answer: a humongously freaking large amount.

@xurizaemon I'm just trying to imagine how much CPU power would be saved if someone could (hypothetically) shave off even one syscall from curl somehow and, whew
